I find it very amusing that when my children, who have actually have a little playhouse down in the basement, play "house", they refer to it as "parents". (Playing parents is one of their favorite pastimes.)
Speaking of parents, last night Dwight and I had a disagreement about the word integral. I pronounced it in-teg-ruhl and he corrected me with in-ti-gruhl. I stood by my pronunciation and he stood by his. We went back and forth and kept telling the other to go look it up. I even looked through the bookshelves in our room for a dictionary but we didn't have one up there (note to self: take a dictionary upstairs since it might actually get used up there). This morning I checked and guess what, both pronunciations are fine. Which I actually consider a victory for myself since last night I started saying that I thought maybe they were both correct. We'll see if Dwight also considers it a victory for me.
I also won our last disagreement about a phrase (due diligence). The only thing that sucks about winning is the difficult battle to not to gloat. Guess I'm big time losing that fight at this moment. But I will humble myself and tell you that he won "Six of one, a half dozen of the other" and "For all intents and purposes".
Check out this list of other common mistakes.

The way Dwight pronounces it is the calculus way of pronouncing it.
You two have some very interesting conversations Heather. I find that very intriguing.
