AWOL

I've been AWOL. Sorry. This past week kicked my butt. We had so much stuff going on every single day.  But today was the last day of school so now we get to relax and chill.  Thank.goodness.

And yesterday I bought a new lens - the nifty fifty. I am loving it. I took a ton of pictures with very shallow depth of field...because I can. Dwight is not impressed. But I am so that's what matters.  Maybe I'll upload some of them and post a link for you so you can declare whether you're in my camp or in Dwight's camp.  :)

10:02 pm update click here to see twenty pictures I took with the new lens.

I like the last one best. The DOF is way too shallow for me on these, I do like shallow DOF but I guess I'm not loving the lack of focus on part of his face. But congrats on the new lens, fun times!

I am loving it! You can ALWAYS use a higher f stop and get more in focus! But the be able to control the DOF is what is so cool. There is a local young photographer doing some really good stuff and she uses a 35mm 1.8! That has become my newest lens to covet! But first my bank account will need several more deposits!! Anyone wanting to contribute????? I didn't think so.....

Yeah these pictures are taken at 1.4 so super, super shallow. If you look at the album, I did close down a little. (Like you said Jeri, love the control!) But those shots were taken sitting at the kitchen table with very marginal lighting so i was stoked!
